The VERDON programme is part of the International Source Term Programme (ISTP), a co-operative research programme composed of separate effect experiments devoted to reduce the uncertainties which still remain in Source Term assessment in case of PWR severe accident. It addresses the quantification of fission product (FP) and actinide releases from irradiated nuclear fuels as a continuation of the previous VERCORS programme performed by the CEA between 1989 and 2002. This programme will be performed in a new laboratory which is under construction at the CEA nuclear centre of Cadarache. experiments devoted to reduce the uncertainties which still remain in Source Term assessment in case of PWR severe accident.
