Both Tritium and Carbon 14 occur naturally in the environment. In the mid-1950s and early 1960s, they were widely dispersed during the above-ground testing of nuclear weapons. Their activity has been decreasing ever since. Nowadays, in France, large amounts of these radionuclides are released by nuclear facilities. Nevertheless, the dosimetric consequences of their local releases are generally very low
